About Jen
Inspiration behind the business name
Jen is a single mom of two active boys whose diverse life experiences have fostered a deep sense of empathy and compassion for others. Her business, Pillars of Support Psychology, was inspired by a concept she often shares with clients: the importance of having multiple forms of support to navigate life’s challenges. In a world where hyper-independence is common, Jen emphasizes that we are not meant to do everything alone — we all need strong, reliable supports to thrive.
The name reflects her therapeutic approach: identifying sources of distress and barriers while also recognizing and building on the client’s existing supports — or ‘pillars’ — such as relationships, systems, pets, activities, and inner strengths. One of Jen’s own greatest pillars has been her black lab, Ada, who helped inspire the name and spirit behind the practice. Through both personal and professional experiences, Jen believes that healing and growth are made possible by the strength we find in connection.
