  • Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about why you’re seeking counselling, what you hope to achieve, and how we can work together toward your goals. It’s also a chance for you to ask any questions you have about the process.

  • Typically, sessions last about 50 minutes. This allows enough time to focus on your concerns while keeping things manageable and comfortable. Longer session times are available.

  • The frequency of sessions depends on your individual needs and goals. Some clients start weekly, while others may schedule sessions biweekly or monthly. We’ll discuss what works best for you.

  • Yes. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of counselling. Your privacy will be respected, and information you share will not be disclosed without your consent, except in cases where safety is at risk or required by law.

  • It’s normal to feel uncertain or nervous when starting counselling. Building trust takes time, and your comfort is important. Please share your feelings with me—we can adjust the pace and approach to suit you.

  • Counselling is a process, and meaningful change often takes time. It’s about exploring your thoughts and feelings, learning new skills, and gradually making progress toward your goals.

  • Yes. Counselling is voluntary. You have the right to pause or end sessions whenever you choose. If you decide to stop, it’s helpful to discuss this so we can plan your next steps together.

  • You don’t need to prepare anything special. Just come as you are, ready to talk about what’s on your mind. Some people find it helpful to jot down thoughts or questions beforehand, but it’s entirely up to you.

  • Yes, I offer virtual sessions via secure video platforms for your convenience and safety. Sometimes clients do a combination of virtual and in person appointments to best suit their needs.

  • When you book a session, that time is reserved especially for you. I kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule to avoid cancellation fees. This allows me to offer the time to someone else and keep things running smoothly for everyone.

  • No referral is needed. Clients may self-refer or be referred by a physician, dietitian, or other health professional.

  • I see clients aged 15 and older.

  • Direct billing may be available, ask me for details. Currently able to direct bill with Blue cross.

  • Many insurance providers provide coverage for counselling services. The amount that is covered is dependent on your individual insurance coverage.
